First, some thanks are in order. Thanks to the people here and there on the Internet who’ve linked to my post about neighborliness! Thanks also to those who’ve commented, both here and on the mirror blog (I’m still trying to catch up on the comments!). An additional thanks to the unfamiliar faces–I’ve marked all of your blogs to look at when I’ve got more brainspace (warning, that might take a while; I’m about to get exponentially busier with school).
Second, something that happened. Last week I went with my mother to see Winnie the Pooh in the theaters. This is what one does when one is an adult, you see. The movie was all kinds of charming (prompting me to remark on how the lack of innovation in the story was actually what made it so good, which is making me think, think, think). The rest of the audience were moms and their small fry, all of whom were very well behaved. The song at the credits (“So Long,” sung by Zooey Deschanel) has a kinda bouncy beat, and this must be why, as the family in front of us filed out, the little fella in the blue romper broke into an exuberant dance. He bounced his way right out of the theater, stopping to wave at us a couple of times. Every time I think about this I start smiling again. Rock on, little fella!
Have you seen any good movies lately?
Third, I’m thinking about posting future Marigold Woman installments here instead of Tumblr. I started posting there because it felt like a more relaxed environment in which to do some literary play, but I’ve become both more comfortable with tossing random stuff on my blog and less comfortable with posting text on Tumblr. So I’m thinking about switching.
Fourth, I have some art to post! I know! Astonishing! No promises, but I formatted a lot of sketches last week while procrastinating on a paper, and that may mean we get a few sketchposts here and there.
